Ayushman Bharat (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana)

Ayushman Bharat is the largest health assurance scheme in the world. It aims at providing 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) with a health cover of ₹5 lakhs per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. The inclusion of households is based on the deprivation and occupational criteria of the Socio-Economic Caste Census 2011 (SECC 2011) for rural and urban areas, respectively.

The family should be enlisted in the SECC 2011.
  • A family should approach their nearest Civil hospital/Primary Health Care Center in urban areas or ASHA worker/Primary Health Care Center in rural areas to check if they eligible for Ayushman Bharat Yojana as per the SECC list.
  • If the family's name is in the list, they can apply for a Ayushman Bharat card with the required documents.

    Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana

    The Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) is a life insurance scheme, offering coverage of ₹2 lakh for a one year period and is renewable. The premium is ₹330 per annum which is auto-debited in one instalment from the subscriber’s bank account. It is available to people in the age group of 18 to 50 years having a bank account and give their consent to enable auto-debit. Aadhar is the primary KYC for the bank account.

    All savings bank account holders in the age group 18 to 50 years in participating banks are entitled to join.
    PMJJBY is administered through LIC and other Indian private life insurance companies. One may also approach their bankers. As for the process of enrolment, banks have tied up with insurance companies. In the case of multiple bank accounts held by an individual in one or more banks, the person would be eligible to join the scheme through one bank account only.

     

    Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY)

    The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is an accidental insurance cover aimed at covering the uncovered population at a highly affordable premium of just ₹12 per year. The risk coverage available will be ₹2 lakh for accidental death and permanent total disability and ₹1 lakh for partial disability. It is open to people between 18 to 70 years who have a bank account and give their consent to enable auto-debit.

    Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP)

    The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana is aimed at making quality generic medicines available at affordable prices for all, particularly the poor and disadvantaged, through exclusive outlets called Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras, so as to reduce the burden of out of pocket healthcare expenses.
